FALL 2025 SEMINARS
PROTECTION, AUTOMATION & CONTROL

By GE Vernova/Multilin

Elevate Your Protection, Control and Substation Automation Skills with GE Enervista & MCP Platforms. Learn how to apply and program transformer and motor protection relay settings using GE Enervista Setup Software. Sessions include transformer differential protection and motor thermal model/start inhibit protection. Explore GE Vernova’s Multi-function Controller (MCP) Platform, with a live demo of the G100 device for substation gateway applications. See setup, relay data integration, HMI, Ethernet switch, GPS clock, and cybersecurity in action.

The morning sessions will provide a guideline using real world examples, on how to apply and program typical Transformer and Motor protection settings using GE Enervista Setup software. It will include a two-hour session on programming transformer differential protection, as well as a two-hour session on the thermal model and start inhibit protection settings used for motor protection. Whether you're evaluating existing systems or expanding your knowledge, this session is designed to get you more comfortable with GE Enervista Setup Software used for programing GE Multilin relays.

In the afternoon session we will focus on the GE Vernova Multilin MCP platform.  It enables a single device to host multiple functions and applications, including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) concentrator, Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), Human-Machine Interface (HMI), advanced cybersecurity features, and non-operational data management, among others.

This session provides an in-depth overview of the G100 device as part of the MCP platform, specifically for small to medium substation gateway applications. The demonstration will cover setting up the G100 out of the box, integrating it as a data concentrator to collect data from multiple relays, and reporting to a master station. Additional topics include the built-in HMI, Ethernet switch integration, GPS clock functionality, and key built-in features such as advanced cybersecurity capabilities.
